Most peoples think the marble is a kind of durable material, ever no need conservation. In fact, marble is also need conservation as same as other stones, because the marble surface will lose its luster during the daily using, so now we should to have maintenance for it.
Usually, the maintenance is divided into two ways, the one is protected before use, the other one is constructed.
Selection principle of marble protective agent:
1. People use silicone protective agent just for prevent rust and alkali. However, we should to use organic fluorine protective agent in order to improve the waterproof and avoid the dirty.
2. For some of the structure density of the marble is recommended to choose the oily protective agent, it is strong of penetration, can be penetrated into the stone. For the normal structure of marble, oil and water marble protective agent can be selected.
3. For the place easy to pollution like dining room, cabinets, the best to use of organic fluoride type of marble protective agent in order to improve the pollution resistance of the marble surface.
4. For outdoor marble, you can use the silicone type protective agent, but the requirements of resistance ultraviolet, water resistance and acid resistance are better.
5. For wet paste or grouting installation of marble, the proposed selection of marble bottom protective agent. But pay attention to the alkali resistance, cannot affect the marble and cement bonding fastness, otherwise lead to the stone easily break off.
6. For the coarse face of marble maintenance should be using silicone material of membrane type protective, it has the characteristic of hardness, high bonding strength, and not easy to be yellow.
7. For the brunet marble, in order to keep original color, so we must have a trial to test in a small area for avoid fade by used protective agent.
